A microwave sponge cake recipe with a chunk of Toblerone bar sunk into the middle so it turns into a gooey chocolate mug cake. Perfect as a quick late-night snack.

Ingredients
 

  • 32 grams Toblerone (one large piece from 360-gram bar)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 4 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Take a small mixing bowl and whisk together the egg, sugar, oil and vanilla extract with a fork until all combined.
  • Then add the flour, baking powder and salt and combine.
  • Stir in the milk gradually until it is a thick and gloopy but not runny. When it reaches this consistency, stop adding milk. 
  • Pour the mixture into a coffee mug and sink a piece of Toblerone chocolate into the middle. 
  • Microwave at 800W power level for 90 seconds. The top will have risen and will be sticky but firm to touch when it is done.
  • Serve on its own, with cream or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
