Equipment

  • 1 Wide casserole dish or frying pan

Ingredients

  • 600 g (1.3 lb) Cocktail sausages
  • 120 ml (0.5 cups) Honey
  • 120 g (0.5 cups) Wholegrain mustard
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil

Instructions

  • Use kitchen paper to blot the cocktail sausages and soak up excess moisture.
  • Heat the oil in a wide casserole dish over medium heat.
  • Fry the cocktail sausages until browned on all sides.
  • Add the honey and mustard and continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes. Continue to stir to prevent the sauce from sticking and burning.
  • Spoon the cocktail sausages into a small serving bowl and drizzle the remaining glaze on top.

Notes

I normally allow for around ⅘ cocktail sausages per person.
Ensure the pan you use is wide enough not to crowd the sausages, or they won't brown.
Mix mayonnaise with wholegrain mustard to serve as a dipping sauce alongside this dish.
Garnish with sesame seeds for a bit of crunchy texture.
To make this recipe in the oven, spread cocktail sausages in a single layer on an oven tray and cook for 5-7 minutes at 180C/355F before stirring through the mustard honey glaze and returning to the oven for a further 2-3 minutes.
